Privacy Policy

Introduction

Mnemovid (hereinafter "we") is committed to protecting the privacy of its users. This policy describes the personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data Collected

  • Email address: for authentication (magic link) and sending results.
  • Uploaded photos: for processing (restoration, colorization, animation). Temporarily stored on Vercel Blob.
  • IP address: for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
  • Payment data: processed directly by Stripe. We do not store any banking data.

Processing Purposes

  • Provide the photo animation service (contract performance).
  • Send results by email (contract performance).
  • Manage user accounts and credits (contract performance).
  • Prevent abuse and ensure service security (legitimate interest).
  • Measure the performance of our advertising campaigns via Meta Pixel (consent).

Legal Basis

Data processing is based on contract performance (service use, credit management), our legitimate interest (security, abuse prevention) and your consent (Meta Pixel advertising trackers).

Data Retention

  • Account data (email, credits): retained as long as the account is active.
  • Uploaded photos: retained for 90 days after creation, then deleted.
  • Generated videos: retained for 90 days after creation, then deleted.
  • Logs and IP addresses: retained for a maximum of 12 months.

Data Recipients

Your data may be transmitted to technical service providers involved in hosting, storage, artificial intelligence processing, payment, email sending and advertising performance measurement (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd). Some of these providers are located in the United States, based on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.

Your Rights

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: obtain a copy of your personal data.
  • Right to rectification: correct inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure: request deletion of your data.
  • Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured format.
  • Right to object: object to the processing of your data.

Complaints

If you believe that the processing of your data is not compliant, you can file a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés): www.cnil.fr.

Cookies and Trackers

Mnemovid uses a functional session cookie (JWT) strictly necessary for authentication, exempt from consent in accordance with the ePrivacy Directive.

Analytics and Audience Measurement Cookies

Subject to your consent, we use the following tools:

  • Plausible Analytics: a privacy-friendly audience analytics tool. Plausible does not set any cookies and does not collect any personal data. Statistics are anonymous and aggregated.
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook): tracker used to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and create lookalike audiences. Meta Pixel sets cookies and may collect browsing data (pages visited, actions taken such as sign-up or purchase). This data is transmitted to Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. This tracker is only activated after you accept cookies.

You can accept or decline these trackers via the consent banner displayed on your first visit. You can change your choice at any time by deleting your browser cookies.
